TIME Magazine’s youth division, TIME for Kids, has recently named the 50 Coolest Places in the world. The eclectic list which was compiled by young readers, includes Notre Dame Cathedral, the Apollo Space Center and Highwire’s own Seattle Center Artists at Play playground. The credentials for being considered were based on quality, originality, sustainability, accessibility and, most of all, fun.

Nestled beside two of Seattle’s most iconic structures, the Space Needle and the Museum of Pop Culture, this playground was designed to complement the surroundings while stimulating the sense of sight and sound.
In cooperation with KOMPAN, Highwire, and the Artists at Play creative group introduced music into play, using the Corocord Sky Walk and the Spacenet as dominant features when they converted an area of bare asphalt into a visually striking interactive playground.
